TURNER, John R. (Jack)
January 1, 1945 - December 9, 2022
John (Jack) Richard Turner, age 77, of Nokomis, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully Friday, December 9th, 2022 at Pasqua Hospital in Regina Saskatchewan. Jack was born January 1, 1945 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Fred and Sophie (Stahl) Turner. He grew up in Bruno and Nokomis, Saskatchewan.

Jack worked in various jobs such as Air Canada, a rider for ARDA Community Pasture in Nokomis, he farmed until they moved into Nokomis and started working for the Government of Saskatchewan Department of Highways until his retirement in 2005.

He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Sylvia Perry on May 21, 1966. They were blessed with 4 children Charles (Chuck), Michael (Mike), Kari and Cheryl.

Jack enjoyed many outdoor activities which included some of the following: hunting, fishing, camping, watching and coaching hockey, snowmobile racing, trapping, curling and basically anything outdoors. One of Jack's favorite pastimes was spending time with family and friends especially up north camping. You could also find Jack sitting in his comfy chair singing away to his favorite songs or watching a good ole western with the TV remote in his hand.

Jack was predeceased by his parents Fred and Sophie Turner, his brothers Vernon and Gregory Turner, and sisters Verna Speerbrecker, Rosalie Krentz and Carol Ann Turner. grandson Alex Chutskoff. mother and father in-law Martha and Charlie Perry; brother- in- laws Dennis Krentz, Frank Perry, Ernest Perry and sister-in-law Joan Perry.

He is left to mourn by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia and their 4 children Chuck (Shelley) Turner, Mike (Darcy) Turner, Kari (Brad) Forseth, Cheryl (Dale) Chutskoff; his 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; his brother Doug (Adriana) Turner. brother in-law George Perry, Lanny (Nadene) Perry, Norm Speerbrecker. sister-in-laws Sally Crawford, Patti (Merv) Keleman, Carol Perry, Doreen Turner and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A Private Family Gathering will take place at the Nokomis Cemetery, Nokomis, SK on Thursday, December 29, 2022. A Memorial Tea for Friends and Family will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Nokomis Centennial Hall.
