Obituary for Irene Galt

February 26, 1931 – June 6, 2022
Irene was born into the loving home of Ben and Pearl French on Feb. 26, 1931 welcomed by many brothers and sisters! She married her sweetheart Jim on Oct. 12, 1948 and together they welcomed two sons Claire and Ken. Later on in life Irene and Jim welcomed their granddaughters Tricia and Dawn into their home and raised them as their own.
Irene worked a variety of jobs while she raised her family, but the most important to her was that of wife and mother, a role she cherished and excelled at. A beloved wife to Jim, a loving mother to Claire and Ken, and adored grandma of Tricia, Dawn and Danielle, a proud great grandma to Kaesha, Logan, Kyle, Devon and Aidan and great-great grandma to Rhett and Rowe. Her life centered around them as well as time spent with her sisters, brothers and their families.
Family and faith were the center of her life. She was active in her church community and spent countless hours volunteering and helping others whenever she could.
She will be forever loved and missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Jim in April of 2014 and her son Claire in May of 2022.
