Obituary for Juanita Bowman

BOWMAN: Juanita
August 13, 1931 - April 23, 2022
Juanita Bowman went to be with Jesus in the early hours of Saturday, April 23, 2022. She had been a resident of Central Parkland Lodge, Lanigan, for 6 years.
Juanita was born on August 13, 1931 on the farm near Biggar, SK, to George and Annie Bergmann. She spent her growing up years on the farm, and attended Rosthern Junior College for grades 11 and 12. During that time, she worked at a butcher’s shop to help pay for her schooling. She completed her education at Normal School in Saskatoon.
In 1955, she accepted a job offer at Loch Lomond School, a one-room schoolhouse in the Guernsey area. Here she met the love of her life, Rod Bowman. They married in 1958 and had 2 sons, Allan and Bruce. Juanita was proud to be a cowboy’s wife.
Juanita enjoyed singing, gardening, going to rodeos, and leading cowboy church with Rod. She was a faithful member of Sharon Mennonite Church, and later of LifePoint Church. She loved being mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She prayed for her family daily; we will miss those prayers.
Juanita is survived by her sons Allan and Bruce (Brenda), her grandchildren Cody (Karen), Meghan, Jesse, and Shane, her great-grandchildren Mia, Jaxson, and Avery, her siblings Sue Mantai, Jake (Peggy) Bergmann, Anne Bergmann, Larry (Kathy) Bergmann, and Margorie Bergmann, brother-in-law Walter (Beatrice) Bowman, sisters-in-law Ruth (Barry) Gammie, Alma Zieger, Fay Bergmann, and Marlene Bergmann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Juanita Bowman’s memory can be made to the Saskatchewan Fellowship of Christian Cowboys.
A Graveside Service will be held in Sharon Cemetery near Guernsey, SK at a later date. For online condolences, tributes or memorial donations please visit: https://fotheringham-mcdougall.com/
