ALLIN: Dollina
December 15, 1923 – March 31, 2021
Dollina Taylor Allin (nee Miller) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at age 97 at the Manitou Lodge in Watrous. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford E. Allin and her only sister Margaret. Dollina is survived by her children Vaughan, Fay (Ken) Don, Tom (Lou Ann), and Gwyn (David) along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dollina was born to Harry and Margaret Miller in Westbrooke, Maine on Dec. 15, 1923. At age 5 her family moved to Montreal where she resided until 1945. As a YWCA member during the war she met Clifford who was training in Montreal. After the war, Dollina and Cliff married and moved to Saskatoon, then Alsask, then Marengo and then retired to Saskatoon in 1974. After Clifford’s passing in 2017, Dollina moved to Manitou Lodge in Watrous.
Dollina was very active in her many community groups and also excelled in the arts, needle work, sewing and painting. She enjoyed walking, balloon volleyball and was a voracious reader. Dollina was absolutely stellar at motherhood.
Her summer months were spent at the cabin at Manitou Beach where she loved to swim in its unique water, walking in Wellington Park and picking berries. She enjoyed hosting family and friends from everywhere at the cabin.
Her family wishes to thank all the caregivers that have assisted Dollina, including staff at Villa Royalle, Porteous Lodge and most recently all the wonderful staff at Manitou Lodge.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Manitou Lodge Activity Dept.
