Obituary for Rosalia Stock

STOCK: Rosalia (nee Kolla)
April 26, 1926 – December 24, 2020
Rosalia Stock passed away peacefully on December 24, 2020 in the loving care of the staff of Bethany Pioneer Village in Middle Lake, SK.
Rose was born in Cudworth, SK on April 26, 1926 to Louis and Mary Kolla and was raised with her siblings on the family farm. After graduation from convent in Bruno she attended teacher’s college in Saskatoon. Because of the need for teacher’s at the end of the second world war she was sent out to teach after only 6 months. She taught at a few small town schools and ended up at Little Manitou School, a country school near Young, SK where she met Charlie. They were married on October 11, 1948. They lived on the farm and had two sons, Jerry and Wayne. She taught at Little Manitou until it closed and then started teaching in Young McLellan school until she retired in 1981. She enjoyed teaching and from the number of responses on Facebook she obviously had a special impact on many of her students.
Following her retirement Mom took a real interest in traveling. She took many trips with family and friends to places like Europe, Israel, Mexico, Jamaica, USA, and Hawaii. She also enjoyed her trips to the mountains and in her later years she loved her trips to Waskesiu.
Mom loved to play bridge or crib and was very competitive. She loved to bake. She was an avid reader. She loved watching curling and tried to catch all the Scotties and Brier’s games on TV unless they were too early in the morning. Sleeping in took precedence.
Mom’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her. They all loved her very much and made a point of calling her regularly.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her sons Jerry (Norma Jean) and Wayne (Joan), grand children Becky (Joel), Riley, Ryan and Shawn (Leanne), and great grandchildren Noelle and Brennan, sister-in-law Heather Kolla and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Charlie, parents Louis and Mary Kolla, brothers Martin (Marie) Kolla, Michael (Mary) Kolla, Joseph (Dina) Kolla, Louis (Eileen) Kolla and Father Francis Kolla and sisters Mary Kolla, Sr. Carmelita Kolla and Cecilia (Gerald) Dewey.
