ENGLUND: Marjorie G. (nee Gwillim)
Marj Englund passed away peacefully at Nokomis Health Centre on Sunday March 8th, 2020. Marj was born in Duval to Robert and Gertrude Gwillim, where she grew up on the family farm and in Duval. Upon graduation she became a teacher, where she taught in several places in Saskatchewan, before moving to BC, where she continued teaching. In later years she returned to Saskatchewan, taught in Duval and Bulyea until her retirement, with most of those years teaching Grade 1, which she loved. Marj lived in Saskatchewan or BC for her entire life. Travel was one thing she loved, after her retirement Marj and Fran travelled to many places, spent winters in Texas, Arizona and California in their RV, which she talked about often. She made numerous trips to the UK also. Besides travel Marj loved music, her flower garden, her cat, playing cards, bird watching, Coronation Street, Blue Jays baseball, helping people in the community wherever she was living, and spending time with family. Being involved in the church wherever she was living was a very big part of her life. After her husband Fran’s death in 2005, Marj returned to Saskatchewan in 2006 to spend the summer, and in 2007 moved to Saskatchewan to live on the farm where she grew up, and remained there until January when she went to Nokomis Health Centre. Marj was pre-deceased by Bert Vaughan-Jones and Fran Englund; sister Gladys, brothers Reg and Gerry; step-daughters Cheryl and Enid, nephew Barrie. She leaves behind to mourn her loss, step-children Gwyn (Bob); Jane and girls, Richard and family, Englund and Vaughan-Jones grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all her nieces and nephews, great and great-great, the Kendall families and Gwillim families. Marj was a kind and caring person who never wanted acknowledgement for her kindness, she will be missed by all who her knew her. May she Rest In Peace.
