HAWKES: Marie “Rea” Agnes (nee Rogne)
March 3, 1938 – June 27, 2018
It is with great sadness that the Hawkes family announce the peaceful passing of Marie Agnes Hawkes in Watrous on Wednesday June 27, 2018. Now that she is gone, we mourn her loss, but we know that she is welcomed with open arms by her father Edwin and mother Sophia. Marie was predeceased by her sister Lorraine and brothers Bert and Ralph. Marie is remembered by her loving husband of 62 years Robert; her daughters Sharon Kelly, Patricia (Darcy) Hooper, Bonnie (Mark) Prosser, Nancy (Leonard) Dieno, Jillene (Keith) Grona; her twelve grandchildren Lorna (Tracy), Bobbie, Samantha (Josh), Warren (Amber), Justin (Amanda), Mitchell, Jessie (Tasha), Karina (Mike), Cody, Riley, Brittany, Ryland; and her five great-grandchildren, Avienn, Denae, Lacey, Kason and Waylon. Marie grew up on her family’s farm, at Saline Creek, near Nokomis, SK. This is where she played ball and fished with her family and where she first met the love of her life Robert Keith Hawkes. They were married on November 15, 1955. Together they farmed at Amazon, SK until their retirement. Then they built their retirement home, in Watrous, in 1981. Marie enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, flowers and drinks with friends. The Funeral Service will be held in Watrous United Church on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Karl Shin officiating. Interment in Watrous Cemetery.
