JACK: Jean Ball (nee Culbertson)

October 26, 1944 – July 31, 2015

Jean Jack, aged 70 years, passed away peacefully in Watrous District Health Complex on Friday, July 31, 2015.

Jean Ball (Culbertson) Jack was born October 26, 1944 to Clarence and Amanda (Ball) Culbertson near Pelly, Saskatchewan. She attended school at Ferndale and Welwyn. She enjoyed living on the farm and often had many stories to share about her childhood growing up in a rural setting.

On October 26, 1963, Jean married David Jack at Welwyn, Saskatchewan. They moved around for a few years while Dave worked on road construction until they settled in Young, Saskatchewan in the early 1970s.

As a young mother, Jean enjoyed gardening, baking, curling, playing softball and golfing. She babysat and worked various jobs in the community. She was active on numerous local volunteer committees over the years.

Jean worked towards becoming a Town Administrator while employed at the RM of Morris in the 1980’s. After completing her education she worked as Town Administrator in Quill Lake, Young, Sandy Bay, Denare Beach and Manitou Beach. She enjoyed working with people and made many friends around the province.

After retiring, Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, crocheting, baking (famous for Butter Horns), and watching Blue Jays baseball.

Jean is survived by her loving family, husband – Dave Jack, children – Warren (Candice) Jack, Elaine Jack, Susan Jack (Roy Bielecki), her grandchildren – Madison, Connor & Dawson Jack, Amber & Holly Roskell, Kole Jack (Kirstin Gowda) & Montana Jack-Potter, Kaitlyn Bielecki, her great-grandchildren – Silas Roskell, Brielle Bielecki, and her brother Hal (Doreen) Parks, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jean was predeceased by her father – Clarence, mother – Amanda, step-father – Harry, step-sister Joan, step-brother - Jim, Sister – Dorothy, Brother – Wayne, and half-sister – Linda.

There will be a private family interment at a later date.
