Obituary for Kathleen Louise "Kay" Haberman (Kaminski)

KATHLEEN LOUISE HABERMAN (née Kaminski)
It is with heavy hearts the family of Kay Haberman announces her passing on November 24, 2017 at 90 years of age. Kay fought a difficult battle with Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years. Anyone who knew Kay loved her. She had a mild and gentle disposition, an innocent naivety and she never said a bad word about anyone. She epitomized the expression of “wanting what you have”. She was content with a simple life on the farm and taking care of her family. No one ever loves you like your mom. She always said she would rather be outside working than in the kitchen but her Sunday meals were always huge and delicious. We had our own chickens, beef, milk, cream, eggs, raspberries and vegetables so we were organic way before it was “en vogue”. She loved all things farm related whether it was milking cows, planting a garden or tending to the chickens. When a new batch of baby chicks arrived at the farm, she would stay up all night in the barn watching the yellow fluff balls run in circles around the heating lamp. Group social activities were really never her thing but if anyone came out to the farm to buy milk or eggs the visiting carried on and on. She leaves to mourn her husband of 56 years, Herb, five daughters, Ruth (Simon) Squire, Helen (Dennis) Steele, Joyce (Rob) Weiss, Ethel (Doug) McRae, Margie (Rick) Macdonald, siblings Irene Hilderman, Lorraine Kaminski, Emilie Kaminski (Dave Gibbs) and Emil (Ella) Kaminski, in-laws Rae Kaminski, Sharon Kaminski, Ed (Terri) Haberman and Wilf (Carole) Haberman. The family would like to express gratitude to all members of the Watrous Health District. The excellent and compassionate care started at the farm with home care and continued at the long term care facility. We are comforted to know she is safe in Jehovah God’s memory and that the resurrection hope will reunite us. A family memorial will take place at a later date.
